Got a bunch of these mixed in with Winchesters, Federals, etc... They are marked 9mm as you can see, but my SR9c doesn't like them.

Any idea what they are?

They all have a number between 40-44 stamped somewhere on the head and a bunch have a "D" designation in addition to the 9 MM marks.

DI = Defense Industries Ltd., Canadian Industries Ltd, Park Avenue Plant, Montreal, Canada

The ones marked just "43" and "45" were also made by Defense Industries, but they were not made in the 1940's, they were most likely made in the 1950's. Why they were dated this way, I have no idea but I would assume to add a bit of confusion to the true date of them.

I believe the Canadians made them for the Chinese, possibly another reason why they were not dated with the true year. DI also manufactured 7.92x57mm, for use with the Inglis 7.92mm Brens supplied to the Chinese.
