ID this magazine?

I can’t tell what caliber it is. It seems that a .223 round is slightly too long, and slightly too skinny for it. A 7.62x39 round fits almost correctly length-wise, but still seems ever so slightly loose in terms of diameter. Does not appear to be a very well made magazine, the follower looks like pot metal and the spring seems kind of flimsy/cheap. There are no markings on it. Anyone know what this mag goes to?

Some Khyber pass knockoff is my guess.

If the 7.62x39 is close, then it could be a 5.45x39 mag. The shape and style suggest AK type design.

That is likely a very rare 8x33 kurz mag for some late war German contraption. 8x33 is shorter & larger in dia. Then 762x39.

Elbonian AK magazine, from the machining on the follower.
It's rock-n-lock from the front nub.
Somebody invested a lot of effort into the thing, for it being that plain and without obvious things like shell support shoulders or reinforcing ribs.
