I have never seen an FN/Browning HP with that style number. Can you post a pic?

That is different. Is it FN rollmarked?

Also, does it have any additional national/department/organization type markings on it? FN installed customer selected serial number ranges on pistols sold overseas to military or police agencies. May be one of those.
