41BCA640-28F4-461C-8A31-EB6666BDF152.png Patricia McCloskey is all over the news for waving a gun at protestors outside of her home. The gun is a small metal framed semiauto in either a nickled or stainless finish. I like the look of the gun, but can’t nail it down precisely. Perhaps a sig p230, maybe a Bersa Thunder .380... I can’t tell from the photos I have seen. Can anybody identify it? I have attached the best photo I have found so far.

The way she was waving it around...........and his old Colt SP1.............I was hoping it was some better brand/model 380...............but honestly, deep down................I knew it was probably going to be some cheap POS.

Clip from a local STL news article:

Watkins said that the handgun he held for the McCloskeys and handed over to police was not a gun that they kept for self-protection. Watkins said the handgun had been rendered inoperable for use as an exhibit in the McCloskeys’ own law practice. Watkins said that the McCloskeys used it as an exhibit in litigation against the handgun’s manufacturer because it was defective.

Point of reference: Watkins was, at that time, their lawyer. He no longer is.

Interestingly the pistol was made inoperable and wasn't capable of firing.
The prosecutor ordered the ballistics lab to put it BACK into firing condition and may have committed perjury after telling a court the gun was operable.

In addition, the AR-15 rifle was likely not loaded.
After serving the search warrant the police didn't find any ammo in the house, so it's speculated that it was never loaded.

So, these Liberal lawyers are being prosecuted for threatening "peaceful" demonstrators who were threatening to kill them, with a pistol that couldn't be fired and for which they had no ammo, and an AR rifle that wasn't loaded.

Took awhile to get guns confiscated. Beings they are lawyers they know how system works. Dissasemble gun and make it inoperable. Get all ammo out of house. Smart people maybe?

Where did you find these things out, dfariswheel?

Hi. I don't know where dfariswheel found it, but I did find this article.

St. Louis prosecutor ordered crime lab to reassemble Patricia McCloskey's gun

"The gun Patricia McCloskey waved at protesters was inoperable when it arrived at the St. Louis police crime lab, but a member of Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner's staff ordered crime lab experts to disassemble and reassemble it and wrote that it was “readily capable of lethal use” in charging documents filed Monday, 5 On Your Side has learned."

Was common practice at least in 80s for BATF (no E at that time) to do it before they took it to court. I know because I was called by defense as an expert witness and nailed them on that (and other things) . But before I get my response removed, Let me make a statement germain to this case. #1 this is part of a partially failed Kabuki theater by two Democrat activist Lawyers who specialize in such agendas. Hence the stupid show of brandishing out side a concrete fortress of a house .

The first AP press release before the mainstream "news" started the spin : " Their attorney, Albert Watkins, told The Associated Press on Monday that the couple are long-time civil rights advocates and support the message of the Black Lives Matter movement. He said they grabbed their guns when two or three protesters - who were white - violently threatened the couple and their property and that of their neighbors."
All the fact checkers working over time said it is only half true they are Democrat activists. They donated to Republicans too the last few years, maybe, Other than that - TRUE they are what I claim.
It is another case of manipulation of the masses to divert their attention to real self defense issues. Everyone from Tucker to the President seems to fall into the trap :(

Thanks, skeptical_in_Ohio. I am then confused by what this couple was doing. They went outside to confront people, with guns that were unloaded and/or not working. I guess they did not feel the people they were confronting were actually dangerous, and were just trying to prevent vandalism through intimidation.

I would think brandishing what appeared to be weapons would be just as likely to make the people they were brandishing them at angrier and more volatile if those people felt they had a right to do what they were doing, but I have no real experience in such situations.

Here in Wisconsin, I think there is some kind of law about committing a crime with a "pretend weapon", but that is irrelevant to this, of course.

BTW, when I first saw a picture of this couple in front of their home with their guns, I thought the woman had a stainless Walther PPK/S. A Bryco! Well, they didn't cost much, and if all you want is a dummy, they are just as good.

Sounds like they were trying to protect their baby ( the house, specifically the windows ).
