5-shot .44 Special. 3" barrel. Serial # begins with LE******. The Taurus USA Model Number Lookup gives a model number of 2-431031 and a production date of 1993. Does this make it a Model 431?

If so, what do the other digits in that long Model # mean? This gun is NOT FOR SALE, but out of curiosity, how much do these usually sell for nowadays?

I inherited this gun from my Dad, and have no idea where he got it. I'm pretty sure it's had a good trigger job, as the double-action pull is like butter. The single-action pull is definitely lighter than 5 lbs.

The gun you have is a blued Taurus 431 in 44 special. It is an excellent weapon. I own one. I carry it as my ccw weapon. I stoke it with 200 grain Blazer GDHP

Keep it. It will only go up in value. Low side is $275.00 High side is $400.00
The average is $325.00 value.

I have one like it, but it is 4in. in Stainless. It cost me 165 OTD a few years back. I like it a lot!
