I have a couple of Smith & Wesson revolver mainsprings. Both were installed in revolvers by S&W, possibly by the Performance Center. One into a PC-branded gun, and the other may have been installed by the PC after sale. Both have a "power rib" corrugation.
I don't know if they are "Wolff" brand springs or if S&W makes their own springs following Wolff's patent. What I want to know is what kind of spring rate they might be.
I understand Wolff makes a Type II reduced power mainspring, and a Type I factory-rate mainspring. I believe the two would be distinguished by thickness.
Does anyone know the thickness of a factory or Type I mainspring? Or the thickness of a Type II spring?
