So when putting my G21SF back together I inadvertently installed the slide onto the frame above the rear slide rails. I'm actually pretty surprised it would go back together this way, but I suspect the front rails are higher than the rears.

In order to remove the jammed slide I had to run the slide all of the way to the rear and manually reset the trigger. Should I be concerned about any unseen damage to the front slide rails from having abnormal upward loads placed on them due to the slide having been placed at an upward angle outside normal use?

Translation..can I still trust this gun?

Go out and shoot it. If it works...then it works. Glocks, despite all the detractors, have a habit of working even after being abused.

Translation: you put the pistol back together incorrectly, and now want to know if YOU can trust IT? Come on....

Oh, I believe we've all made mistakes like this from time to time so I wouldn't listen to the ridicule. Take it out and test it. I believe she'll be fine.

Next day:

Who suggested to my husband to go test-fire his gun after he reassembled it incorrectly? The gun blew up in his hands, and he lost 8 fingers.

lmao. Good luck man. I doubt that'll happen. It'd be funny though.

Edit: Well. If it was a movie.

The gun is trashed now and I am willing to pay you the scrap value of the gun. But in reality the gun is most likely fine. Cycle the slide a few times and wiggle it in a rocking fashion. If it seems ok it most likely is. You may also inspect the rails and see if any are bent upwards. Its hard to say without being there and knowing how much pressure you used to pull the slide to the rear.

Never heard of that one, congrats to you! I have put my Glocks back together with no recoil assembly. I also dropped a slide I was cleaning on the tile in my kitchen. Had it been assembled, no problem. As it was, the rail bent in and I could never assemble it again. Glock made me a great deal, new slide for $150 or new gun for $300. I got a new one with trade of damaged one and laughed with the guys as they gave me hell. If you ever thought of putting your 21 barrel in your 30, let me save you the trouble right now. It does'nt work.
