Anyone else using Scott Craig's IDPA Match Scoring Software? I'll tell you, this app rocks compared to the old IDPA scoring software. If you haven't looked at it, contact Scott Craig at http://www.craigcentral.com to get a copy and give it a whirl. We have gone from scoring and posting in three days down to posting the same day.

To see output, go to http://www.tssa.net/match_061204.HTM to see our last match results. We have been using it since the beginning of May with great results. Highly recommended!!!

Haven't heard of that software, but the output looks better than the IDPA software (which isn't hard). The IDPA software really blows. I don't do the stats, but I do handle the website and the output I get from our stats guy that the IDPA software spits out is worthless for posting on the net. I end up redoing the whole thing to make it look remotely presentable...which is time consuming.

So I decided to make a spreadsheet, I've been working on it on and off for a couple weeks or so now. I'm digging the way it's outputting: See it here for a small practice match, and I also have a version that will do a subtotal for a classifier match: here (formatting of the header is not updated on that one).

It's set up so you can select the shooter names, class and div from a drop-down list in each column. Excel won't autocomplete as you type, thoguuh. There's a workaround, but it's a pain the arse.

I got the idea from a spreadsheet that someone sent me a while ago (I can't remember the name fo the guy who sent it my way or I'd credit them) that was kind of a bare-bones version of the same type of thing that I expaned out. Needs more work, but I think it looks pretty good now and excel will spit out an html version that makes posting it up a breeze.

I *HATE* the IDPA sanctioned software so much

*backtrack to the florida state match about 8 PM at night on sunday*

RO: Do you know anything about the scoring software
Me: Yeah, I wouldnt put your life on it.
RO: Can you go help them out?

*five minutes later*

Me: Start mailing trophies, this thing isnt getting settled anytime soon.

Was there--saw it all happen. One of our guys had volunteered to help enter scores (Miguel). He vowed to never volunteer again. I ahve never seen a guy so perturbed. Thusly, we are using a new system that is 1000% better than the old one. I encourage you to try it at your club.

I cant seem to locate the download link.

So you were victim of the spanking machine too?

I said one of these days when I do an IDPA regional event - Think Florida Open, just for IDPA and not shooting for $ I'm going to get some yardsticks, lots of sharpies and a BIGASS butcher block sheet sized of paper.

There is no download link. You have to call him. It's worth the effort. Plus, the more clubs using this software, the better chance we have of making that old SW crap go away. He has been trying to get in to IDPA HQ to get it off the ground but you know how things move in AR.

I know all too well. Took them damn near a month to process my memership.

I think their logo sucks, it dosent leave much for merchandising oppritunities.

Now USPSA - THATS A LOGO!

It works great!! I was picking up scoresheets to help out while waiting for the results, when the stat guys told me it was going to be a few more hours at least, I loaded the car and headed North somewhat amused because at our regional match last year we did exactly what you're thinking. We used two 4'X8' sheets of shower board from Home Depot and made two large dry-erase boards, works like a champ! 5 minutes after the last shot is fired we've got the results double-checked and posted. Granted, we only had about 85 shooters but it still would have been a massive improvement at the FL match. One suggestion if you decide to try it, Staples has large tablets of yellow sticky notes that are about 2'X3' that may work for you.
