If an enthusast, how many Garands do you plan to have?

i want 2, a full size garand with a walnut stock, and a very nicely shortened garand with a 20" barrel. and a synthetic stock.

That's not going to happen. There's a bit more involved than you think.

I saw one of the new short barreled Garands at Sportsmans Wharehouse the other day and I gotta tell you for fit and finnish I will just stick to my Weatherby Vanguard.

Right, but those aren't new production (well, his work is new, the receiver is GI, as are other parts to my knowledge) and I seriously doubt that he is selling stuff at Sportsman Warehouse, especially since he only makes very limited numbers each year.

Most of us are familiar with Shuff's Mini-G. I doubt they are stocking them at SW...

There are also many bubba tankers out there collecting dust.

I have 6, one of which is a .308. A local gunsmith who has been at the collecting thing for years had over 70 at last count. I think if he lives long enough he'll top 100.

In my perfect world, I'd have three. One in WWII configuration. One in KW configuration. And one in 7.62mm.

In my won-the-lottery-perfect world, I'd have shooters and "showers" and likely at least one SAI 18" shorty, plus at least one to display the M7A3 grenade launcher upon.

Were I in that happy state, I'd likely add a couple AR's in the mix, too, at least one in VN-era appearance, and some sort of M-4. And at least the one Johnson rifle. Then, a couple more M1 carbines.
