If you could build a fully custom rifle with no budget what would your specs be? Everone I would love to hear your opinions on your dream rifle. This is where we learn a broad range of top of the line equipment or quality old fashioned classics. I like the modern technology, so here is my dream rifle that has been rated sub MOA at 1 mile! hehe

Cartridge-338 Lapua
Action-Surgeon XL Repeater/Bolt 1 Piece coated spiral fluted
Barrel-Kreiger #10 MTU
Trigger-Jewell 2.5 lbs
Stock-Mcmillan Sentinal Aluminum Pillars Marine Tex Bedding
Surgeon Mag and bottom metal
Optics-Schmidt & Bender Police Marksman 5-25x56 PM

Either an 1885 Win Hi Wall or a Win 70 clone single shot scaled down to just fit in 38 spec/357mag.
The 1885 would have a 24" octagon barrel with a hooded gold bead front sight and a tang sight.
The 70 clone with a 16.5" to 18" semi target weight barrel would also have a hooded gold bead front and a Lyman receiver sight. I would also like to have a small 2x7 scope, probably a Leupold compact in removable rings.
The stocks would be just a simple straight grain old growth Walnut finished in a hand rubbed oil.

I have often thought about a lightweight easily carried rifle that would take most small to mid sized game out to 100 yards.
I would work up a few loads; a 125 gr LRNFP hardcast with a real long ogive that would be real zippy and hopefully blow through small game and a 180 gr LRNFP that in the 1885 could be paper patched

I'd commission Cooper to build me a single shot set up specifically for .22 Short, with a nice set of aperture sights. Of course I'd get the exhibition-grade wood, skeletonized plates, and all the other bells and whistles.

Surgeon Single Shot Action made to tactical clearences (.0005 not .0001) in .308.
I'm not sure about which barrel maufacture, but I'd have a 23" barrel, .900" muzzel, and 5R rifleing.
Jewell 3 pound trigger
JP Rifles manual rifle stock with VTAC 13" handguards
And a USO 1.8-10x50 scope

The rifle would of course then be painted.

This is my fantasy rifle.
