If you hit the lotto and could design a rifle from scratch

Mine would be be nothing new. Just a lot of features I admire off the top of my head.

1) Square bridge magnum Mauser dimensions.
2) Internal receiver collar slotted only on one side.
3) Gas escape hole through the receiver wall like the 03 Springfield.
4) Interrupted locking lugs like the Newton.
5) Rotary spool magazine like a Mannlicher.
6) Offset ejector slot like the pre-64 Winchester M70.
7) Dual full length stock tangs like an Arisaka
8) Stainless 5R/7R cut rifled barrel.
9) Dual set triggers.
10) Mannlicher style butter knife bolt handle
11) Mauser style claw extractor that would still snap over a chambered cartridge rim.
12) 404/375 based on improved full length 404 Jeffrey.
13) Really effective muzzle break.

Yeah it would cost crazy especially with the Newton style interrupted lugs and rotary spool magazine but I do admire all these features. I can dream...

I'd resurrect the 7x43/280 British service rifle cartridge and end up writing a lot of checks to some gunsmith(s) to build me working replicas of the British EM-2 and the 7x43 versions of the FAL to play around with.

Possibly raid the CMP North and South Stores to start cranking out 276 Pedersen chambered M1 Garands too, while I was at it. Might even go full-tilt on the sacrilege and have some 276 Pedersen M14 clones built. Would be kind of cool to see a shoot off between a .276" chambered M14 and 7x43 FALs.

The rifle I would build would be attached to a giant robot and it would walk around and aim at threats with its integrated night vision IR/UV/X-Ray vision and also step on them and squash them to save bullets and not wake up the neighbors.

Oh, it's probably just going to be the run of the mill GE Electric Minigun type with an improved feeding system and a quick change system for barrel cooling attached to the robot's arm which is like a big fan blowing on the barrels.

i would redesign the SIG55x line to be lighter and to use the caliber we initially planed to use, the 6.45x48mm GP80 cartridge.

also would add the brügger & thomet 553SOW stock as standard.

already though of this the EBR gun company
tested on Hippy's not animals
start with a .22 SA80 clone and .22 LSW clone including left handed versions.
follow up with 5.56 straight pull copies and semi auto for export and test and evaluation (basically everyone I know in the uk becomes a employee for testing purposes)
then a 7.62 improved version of the LSW bipod moved proper floating barrel.
finally upscale it to .338.
make a great range rifle that would make a lot of m4 lookalike owners sick same dimensions rails fitted take the same mags but longer heavier barrel

buy this rifle two governments don't want you to buy it.
every rifle comes with a free padlock and chain because there so evil you need to chain them down

building an em2 clone would be fun too
