which you rather face ... assume the person pulling the trigger is a competent ccw type from 15 yards

one 9mm fjm round

or

three 22lr rounds

both out of a full sized pistol

?

Assuming good medical care,

the .22. I think I'd be more likely to live long enough to get to the hospital, assuming average marksmanship and the luck of the draw when it came to bullets in small vital areas.

15 yards is a loooooooooooong shot! If we adhere strictly to the one only 9mm, I'll take it (past me, chances are).

.........and this "proves" .........WHAT???!!!! A poll for what?????

I HAVE been threatened with a "full-size pistol" shot; in the knee, to be exact. To see if I'd been lying. My eternal gratitude to the Lord for letting the paroled convict in the front seat be more "professional" than the banger in the back. :fire:

This is NOT a game!!!!!

Believe me; you DON'T want to face either.
And if you ever ARE a target; you DON'T get to choose!!!!!:cuss:

Tough one

I have read that the .22LR is not something you would want to get shot with. Of course there are no bullets that I would like to get shot with, but 3 times with one over once with the 9mm. I guess I would take the 9.

I'll take a shot of chilled Cuervo between the lips.

Gimme the 9mm anyday, at least I wont be wishing I could just die.

Kharn
(I thought Cuervo tasted bad while it was in my mouth, then I swallowed it. :what: :barf: Not my favorite drink.)

AMEN BROTHER PREACH THE WORD.

Jose and I have a long and turbulent history. I don't like that crafty Mexican. No sir I don't like him one bit.

:uhoh:

Although I would only use the .45 for self-defense, I think the .22 cal or the 9mm would both be dangerous depending on where you were hit. Most of the homicides in our city are with the .22 and .25 cal. weapons. Sometimes with only one shot. So either one could be deadly.

There is very little use for the .22 or .25 cartridge, and some experts, like Cooper, feel that there is none at all. It is neither accurate enough to be used in a working gun even one confined to the smallest game -- nor powerful enough to be used for defense. But, these cartridges will kill. If you are aware of the limitations, you use it at little more than arm's length and are cool enough to shoot for the eye sockets, it may give you a 5% chance of stopping an attack from a single assailant. If your unarmed, chances are zero.

Now as to how criminals seem to be able to kill with this cal. I believe it is because they are close to the person they want kill. So I don't want to be hit with either the .22 cal. or the 9mm.

Matthew 28: 18,19
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, all power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.

How'bout this? I'm facing some scumbag with a .22 who wants me dead. He gets three shots with his .22, and I get one shot with my Glock 17. Only thing is, we get to go simultaneously.

I'd take the 9mm.

Questions like this are ridiculous, but I have played this game since childhood. And, it is fun.
I choose the 9mm.
One hole is better than three. First of all, there is always the chance of a miss; letting them fire three times obviously increases the chance of a hit. Assuming you were hit every time, the chances of a bullet hitting a vital organ are multiplyed by three. Bleeding from three holes may be worse than bleeding through one.

To allow such a thing to happen is stupid in the first place.:banghead:

That said, from what I have read, and seen, a .22 will many times do more damage. A high speed bullet, that will bounce around a lot when it enters the human body. At least with the larger, it stands more of a chance to stay on track.

Neither a good choice.

A. cheap to shoot, doesn't require lots of money to have lots of fun, good for beginners and newbies who wish to become "proficient".

B. accuracy? youbetcha. within modest ranges many "proficient" shooters can hit a dime sized dot on a peice of paper several times over, in succession.

C. Many small game critters are humanely dispatched by a single, well placed .22 lr by people who care to become "proficient"

D. Defense, also falls to "proficiency" and possibly a mere deterent for fear of being shot by ANYTHING.

Now the .25
:p I'd just as soon throw it at an assailant, same accuracy, bigger
projectile. :D

As for being shot, ever see the Matrix ?;)

Don't put words in Cooper's mouth. He has stated positively that the worth of the .22 is it allows very accurate shot placement, especially in normal sized pistols, in addition to the cheap training associated with them.

First, I don't wanna get shot...

It's no fun being a target and pain has been proven to be disconcerting to the human mind. That said, I'd rather take my chance with a 9mm. Why? Under the described circumstances it's only one shot and the ***** may just miss. Three shots with a 22 is plenty enough to wound, disable and administer a coup de grace. Second, I've spoken with several surgeons and the concensus of those with whom I've met is that the 22 LR causes the most amount of damage. It tends to follow the path of least resistence.:uhoh:
