If you were to have a flashy "bbq" revolver....

How about like this Bearcat Shopkeeper that I gifted to my youngest grandson last year?

I had the opportunity to handle a stainless Bearcat shopkeep with the shorter barrel and it took a great amount of self control to not walk out with it. I loved how it felt and it fit my fiancé’s small hands perfectly.

Love all the pics but every time I read the title of the post it reads to me “FLESHY BBQ Guns”. Just how my brain works.

Yes, fleshy, indeed; as that now-old movie line indicated, “scorched mammal flesh.” ;)

Never heard of a vegan BBQ.

They really are small grips, and I have small hands.
A lady friend from England enjoyed shooting it at the local range much more than my New Vaquero (which she said was too heavy) 9EFADF2A-1838-442C-9BB8-74F076820FD1.jpeg

A blued Smith & Wesson revolver in a serious caliber, usually a four inch or shorter barrel. Grips of 'faux' ivory (too cheap for actual ivory). Possibly some minor scroll engraving, to enhance rather than to dominate. Leather holster with some pattern, usually a border and matted infield, or simply a fleur de lis, centered.
To be honest, I don't have a lot of opportunity for this sort of thing.

There are some pretty...hell...downright beautiful pieces in this thread...don't know if I can compete...but here's mine...a SS Ruger 4-5/8" bbl'd Flat Top in .44 Special and the rig it used to ride in...I made up the holster several years ago then gave it to a young friend for his Beretta one Christmas. Good choice in refreshments he's got there! The stocks on my Ruger are black & White ebony finished in 5 coats of tung oil. Regards and let's BBQ, Rod

Old Dog, since "Cozmo" as he's known on the Colt Forum and a couple others is from Idaho, maybe you should knock off the snarky cracks about Texans. You're making yourself look and sound the fool.

Dave
Well now, perhaps I misremembered (Idaho? Hmm...) -- haven't participated in the Colt Forum for several years, so my bad. Not sure you needed to call me out as a fool, though, Dave.

And I certainly didn't mean to offend my Texan friends (or their supporters living in other states) -- I am a huge fan of most things Texan, and I count two Texans as my very best, and lifelong friends. I was attempting (and obviously not clearly enough) to speak to a certain attitude (which is not by any means restricted to people from Texas). We have just a bit of snobbery in play here, evident in this very thread.

The thread was started, best I can tell, by someone asking what we -- the THR membership -- would use as our entry-level "flashy" BBQ gun. Then along comes a member (whom I otherwise greatly respect, by the way) giving us "rules" for BBQ guns, which are pretty explicit as to what Texans consider "real" BBQ guns (and he kinda took a jab at the "plywood" grips on my Python), and... I objected. Not gonna apologize for my opinion, although if I offended any of our Texan members, I am sorry -- you guys are great and I'll see y'all down in Kerrville in a few months.

Back on topic, what's the current wait time for El Paso Saddlery holsters? (Since clearly I need a fancier rig once I get the engraving done on one of my plywood-stocked Colts)
