Washington Gun Law points out that the law does not only affect Illinois firearms manufacture and sale, but the entire United States. (!) IOW, an Illinois person or entity has according to this law the right to sue the manufacturer, distributor and possibly seller (online via an IL FFL, who I guess can also be sued) for injury caused by a firearm manufactured or sold by such party but misused by someone in Illinois with whom the party never had any contact.

There's a ton of hyperbole and fear-mongering on YouTube, but I just wanted to point out that, in my opinion, this is the most credible YouTube site on the internet that reports on gun laws. William Kirk is a smart guy who does a terrific job navigating and interpreting guns (even beyond Washington state). He also has made some amazing predictions and been right more often that not.

Apparently California already had such a law. (Trying to stay on top of the antis more and more resembles a game of whack-a-mole. But I digress.) Citing the 25-year-old agreement with tobacco companies, Raoul said "“We’ve gone after the marketing that has historically driven up the consumption by minors for those products that are harmful to them,” Raoul said. "The firearms industry shouldn’t be immune to the standards that we put on other industries.” Supporters cite advertising for a small light .22 rifle with extra safety features, designed and marketed for parents to use to safely introduce their children to shooting.
