Today I went out with my Yugo 59/66 SKS. I had forgot my stripper clips. Oh well. So I'm handloading the magazine, and I really don't count how many I put in there. But the mag was full, and the last round was on the other side of the stack unusually. Hmph.

I begin to fire my SKS. 1...2....3...and I reach ten......POP! The bolt is fully closed. The trigger is pulled and a crisp break leads to yet another POP!

11 rounds in a 10 round fixed magazine? I tried to duplicate this same thing, but couldn't. I was using "TZ KOPP", and another type of "Bear" ammo, mixed with each other. Can anyone explain this? Maybe this is the day that the politicians realize that 10 rounds is just too dangerous out here in CA.

You can close the bolt on a freshly-loaded internal mag when loaded with strippers (wow, that's a fun statement  ) without chambering a round by pushing down on the last round, that way you can carry a fully loaded rifle without one on the chamber.
