Smith & Wesson Titanium/Titanium-Scandium revolvers.

About six months ago my curiousity got the better of me and I purchased a S&W 386 TiScan. This is a 7-shot .357 "Mountain Lite" with a 3+ inch barrel. At this point in time I've put about 500 rounds through it about equally distributed between 38 special +P's and a variety of .357 stuff. Accuracy has been excellent (although I am no great shooter) and recoil was not a really big deal with either type of ammo. True, shooting .357 in it will keep me awake but it has not been the hand wrenching, finger tearing experience many talked about. So, after this amount of time has passed I am quite curious as to the experience of others about guns of this ilk. Good shooting

My titanium S&W is the 342. It only weighs 11 or 12 oz. It is not pleasant to shoot, but I am a weenie when it comes to recoil.

I have a 296Ti in .44 Special. I've only put a couple of hundred rounds through it, because it's not exactly the kind of gun you spend an afternoon shooting for recreation. Recoil, while not painful or really unpleasant, definitely falls in the "brisk but manageable" category.

More importantly, it's just not the kind of gun I like plinking away with for hours on end. I'd rather spend time shooting my Model 57 or my Model 629 which, although they recoil worse, are just less utilitarian, and more pleasant to spend time with.

I'm intrigued by the use of the word utilitarian and the context in which you use it. Could you elucidate further? Good shooting
