Received the latest Widner's catalogue today, which leads to the following questions. I've bought a few things from them over the years, and always found what I had ordered to be as it was represented. Never had a problem of any sort with Widner's.
On the front page, there was an ad for UZI MAGAZINES, brand new, unissued items. The term HI-CAP appeared, which strikes me as strange as "manufacturers standard" would be much more correct. The price seems steep, but then there is the law of "supply and demand" to consider. Interestingly, on other pages, similar ads for "surplus Hi-cap magazines" appeared. I'm not expert re the genre, but prices struck me as on the high side, given what is being offered, "obsolete surplus". Of course, the admonition of "what do I know" might be offered.
Getting to the point, given the likelihood or at least the possibility of the demise of the stupid capacity limits for "ammunition feeding devices", one wonders as to what might happen to prices, given the much to be hoped for demise? Anyone have any thoughts to offer, such as re imports, might we see the magical arising of Var.'s, dreamed up by assorted bureaucrats, covering the import of such goods? One wonders, given that these same bureaucrats seem always to find hitherto unknown virtues in the triangular shaped wheels that they use to "roll out" the new programs that they seemingly always have at hand.
On page 7 one finds offered for sale, the projectiles from various caliber TRACER ROUNDS. It is the projectiles that contain the "tracing element", the stuff that seemingly creates some sort of particular hazard.There are also offered, dire pronouncements and warnings concerning the hazardous nature of what is described as U.S. Military Surplus, now offered for sale as a result of actions taken by THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. If these projectiles constitute so particular a hazard that all of the special regulations mentioned are really appropriate, why in blazes is THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT selling this stuff, when over the years, they have DESTROYED millions if not billions of rounds of ORDINARY SMALL ARMS BALL AMMUNITION.
The question seems a reasonable one, at least to me, and caused me to wonder as to whether we perhaps see here, the rolling out of another of those triangular wheeled government programs, or is it simply a case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is up to, perhaps not caring either.
