I got my p22 and took it apart cleaned it a little more thoroughly and now i caNT GET the slide back on.. i put the spring on and everything and now i need to lock it...im soooooo dissappointed in this gun.. or maybe im just an idiot that cant put it together again.. i dont know how i put it together the first time... i want to chuck this gun against a brick wall.. can someone help me out??? ok guys i guess you put press on the rear of the slide down and pull it back then you push the lock in.... geez... why cant they say that in the manual.??

I'll assume you have the short barrel, or at least the fake comp off. Insert the spring and guide rod as well as the little plastic dowel they supply that acts as an extension to the guide rod. Make sure the takedown is in the down position, move the slide backward and when it stops going back push down on the top of the slide as to push the frame and slide together, then move the slide forward. That's all there is to it.

Yes I know exactly what you mean, I used to have one and I had a lot of trouble at first finding the sweet spot where the slide goes on smoothly. Eventually with enough practice it will become easier. I always cleaned mine without taking the slide off its easier that way.

Wish I still had mine that was a fun litle gun, just wish they'd make 15rd mags for it, its hard to shoot these guns slow and 10 rounds just goes by in the blink of an eye:D

Hey if your really dissapoited with it I'll do you a favor and take it off you hands, just go ahead and mail it to.......

One thing I've noticed when P22 owners bring their guns in for some help in reassembling is the U-shaped takedown button has to be all the way down to get the slide to go back far enough so it snaps back on.

When I put one back together, I put the little plastic dowel in the spring in front of the guide rod. I stick the guide rod head in the hole in the frame and the front of the plastic dowel through the guide rod hole in the slide. Line up the barrel to the barrel hole at an angle and slowly pull the slide to the rear with a little downward pressure. When it gets back far enough it will snap down and the plastic dowel flys out the front.

Amen, brother! But, why stop at 15?? :D

Very well put. I bought one a couple days ago, and just took it to the range today. I was a little apprehensive after reading some of the posts here, but after putting about 300 rounds through it today, I'm one happy camper.

BOT, I know what you mean about putting the slide back on. Took me a few tries the first time I removed it, then I found out about pressing down on the rear of it.

Took me about 20min to put it back together the first time. I told my fiance', whose gun it is, to watch me get it back together because I wasnt going to be taking it apart again.
