According to the Fed-Ex tracking system my new rifle arrived at the distribution center at 6:12 am and went out on the truck for delivery at 6:33. Good timing as the scope I bought for it arrived yesterday.

Been looking for one of these for 23 years. Obviously rare and hard to find. The one I located (in an Idaho pawn shop of all places) is in rough shape but the price reflected its condition and I will try to do what I can with it.

Package arrived 5 minutes ago. Have to finish a couple things and then will I put the scope on it and snap a photo.

I for one look forward to seeing the photos of Saxon's rough-but fairly priced Marlin Model 60 with Tasco scope ...

;)

Now THAT was funny.

I had a scare. The rifle did not appear to have a serial number and I was afraid it had been removed. But it was located under the stock.

Still working on photo. Looks better than I expected but does have one big honking problem I will have to address... if possible.

Been trying since 1986 to replace a stolen rifle. Don't see too many small-ring commercial BRNO 22Fs running around. The big problem with this one is that some knucklehead shortened the stock and then filled it with mismatched spacer.

Nice looking rifle. I sold a little Steyr Zephyr .22 last year that I had for a long time. I knew when I sold it that I'd miss it-and I do! :(

On another note, do you think that pad is thick enough to soak up the recoil of a .22 rimfire? :)

It is in 7x57. The model is 22F and that's no reference to caliber. Built on a small-ring, double-square bridge commercial 98 action these were made from 1948 to 1955.

This is the 21H model (H for half stock whereas the F is for full).

The 21H above and the stolen 22F were made in 1951 and are only 5 apart in the serial numbers, likely made the same day. This new 22F is 8,000 earlier. I still have unrealistic hopes that the stolen rifle will come home someday but meanwhile I have acquired the 21H and now this 22F as replacements.
