Is this just basically a heavily modified Ruger 10/22?

EDIT: Actually, I don't know if it is IMI (Israeli Military Industries), it may be just Magnum Research Industries (MRI)

looks like a 10/22 action that's actually machined by MRI. I don't know much about graphite barrels, but at only 4.25lbs, I wouldn't call it too overbuilt.

I was actually drooling over this one, since Ruger 10/22 magnums are getting hard to find.

Shouldn't they call it a 9/22 mag?

Does anyone know if the trigger group is the same as a Ruger? And is the trigger on the magnum the same as the trigger on the LR? Was the Ruger magnum 10/22 gas operated?

No, it was a blow-back with a heavier bolt and steel receiver.

Ruger gave up on it because of problems they couldn't seem to solve.

Well, if MRI solved the problems with a gas system, I just might have to get one and try it out

So, is it the same trigger group?

Is it the same magazine that the Ruger magnum had?

Fine print it is a .22 LR by Magnum Research.

It would be nice is someone created a successful semi-auto .22 magnum.

No, I think that it is a .22 Mag, unless you were talking about the first one.

My question was, is it a copy of a Ruger? If it is, are most of the parts compatible?
