I have been prepping my stash of range 9mm brass while waiting for my p938 to be shipped and ran across some Isreli IMT brass which they punch out the flash hole from the inside of the case to the primer pocket instead of punching from the inside of the case. The issue is a primer pocket cleaner will not clean out the pocket due to the burrs inside the primer pocket.

I ordered a primer pocket uniformer attachment for my Hornady trio tool and hope that cleans it up. Also the brass has an interesting lip on the inside the case which I believe it prevents the bullet from seating too deep.

Has anyone ran across this head stamped brass and what did you do about the burrs in the primer pocket?

The Ammoload headstamped brass has the same ring around inside circumference of the base of the brass. I found a bunch as range pickups and have put them through multiple reloads. They shoot fine.

I never prep primer pockets on service cal pistol brass. It's a complete waste of time IMO. It makes no discernible difference in accuracy. I only prep primers pockets and trim length on rifle brass and magnum revolver loads that are built for scoped handguns.

Both AMMOLOAD- and IMT-headstamped 9mm cases came in Freedom Munitions boxes. Freedom Munitions boxes don't list an address but their phone number is in Lewiston, Idaho, same city as Speer and the Ammoload company. Ammoload makes automated ammunition loading machines. A far-smarter-then-I 9mm guru speculated that IMT stands for Ingersoll Machine and Tool -- a Canadian firm that also makes brass artillery shell cases for the Canadian armed forces. Anyway, seems Freedom Munitions has access to brass made on a trial basis by or for Ammoload, with both their own and perhaps their customer's headstamp. Sans headstamp, the exterior of these cases do look like the Speer produced cases using their FORMAX extrusion process. As for removing burrs around the flashhole, either side, an RCBS flashhole deburring tool should work.

Not to hi-jack or anything. Are you loading these mixed in with others ?
Any special loading instructions ?
I've been throwing them away, but if you can load them along with the batch
it will make life a lot nicer. Just a pain looking inside every case for that little step

They are very heavy, about 65grs, and warrant a reduction in powder charge.

I would not use that brass. It's the same as Ammoload and has a distinct ring with a "shelf" or step inside the case. Dimensions internally are different.
