In honor of the soon to be law 1 per month limitations on handguns, I'd like to buy two handguns this month for the last time. At least as a citizen of PRNJ anyway.

Lets talk caliber first - I have a wide assortment of handguns from .22 to 357, 40, 44, 45's etc.

I have just about everything except 9mm for some reason.

So I was thinking of perhaps 2 9mm's to mourn the passing of yet another freedom:

1. Berretta 92 in stainless: http://www.galleryofguns.com/GunLocator/gunspecs.asp?itemid=JS92F500

and for something special:

2. A PC S&W 952: https://www.galleryofguns.com/GunLocator/gunspecs.asp?itemid=170244

A bit pricey but looks like a nice gun; I held one and love the feel of it.

Any other ideas?

Any other suggestion for 9mm?

Any other caliber suggestions?

Was thinking about the S&W PC 1911 with the laser grips in scandium, but I have a few 1911's so I am luke warm about it.

I'd get a Sig P226 (CPO if you're looking to come in under $600) and a CZ 75B. That's what I did.

If you've got extra money burning a hole in your pocket, a 9mm 1911 if you can find one, replacing one of the above.

If it were me, I'd go w/ the both of your choices...nice ones indeed. My 2 Berettas have been great performers. The inox version I bought was back when I did buy 12 guns in one year (1 every 30 days!).
As an option, I would look at maybe a HK P7M8, a BHP or maybe a Glock 19 or 34 :D
Good luck deciding ;)

I love that Smith

I have been drooling over that thing for over a year.

A single stack full size 9mm... hell yea.

I just picked up a Springfield 1911 in 9mm with the adjustable target sights to match my 1911 .45 Guess wich one gets thrown into the range bag the most often now?:D

I also like the
S&W 952
CZ 75 B

Here's one some of you may not have heard of

Armalite AR-24

It appears to be some type of CZ clone with better fit and finish. I also think the Baby Eagle is another CZ clone with better F&F. I had the pleasure of handling one a few weeks ago.

If moving is an option, lots of room still exists here in AZ. Just looked at some new 5 bedroom two story houses going for just over $200K.

Browning Hi Power

The Browning Hi Power is a classic. I would certainly own one . . . or two . . . or as many as I could afford.

It's what John Browning did after the M1911.

The CZ-75B is a direct descendent of this design, and is an excellent shooter. Feels great in my hand. I will own one of these. The market hasn't figured out yet that they're worth more than what they sell for.

The XD 9mm is well-balanced and shoots reliably and well. I have this one in .40 and it's a keeper.

I also like the feel of the Beretta PX4. I like its trigger better than the 92. It's on my wish list.

For a compact carry gun, the Kel-tec PF9 is winning points. Friend of mine got one for his son. Very happy with it.

For economy, there's always the Taurus Millenium Pro PT111 (wife has that one), which packs 12 rounds into a surprisingly small package.

And finally, for that gun that's just gonna get knocked around, the spare for your buddy when things get tight, the gun to keep in your car, there's the Hi Point C9. ~

Yes, I know, it's cheap and ugly and has a single-stack mag. Yes, I know, it's ugly and cheap and . . . did I mention it's reliable as heck? Did I mention it shoots really well out to 30 yards? And that it's ugly and cheap?

So, get the two that you really want, and get the Hi Point just to punctuate the deal. It's a mongrel, but it won't let you down.
