Why? It applies only in Utah, which allowed carry in schools by state law. The University was ignoring the law and claiming that it did not have to obey the law. The case was not so much about guns as about the rule of law.
Unfortunately, most other states have laws against possession of weapons at school. Click on the map on the bottom left of this link to get an idea. http://georgiacarry.org/cms/?page_id=3
Therefore, in most other states, it is against state law, and institutes of higher learning "obey the law" by calling the police to have you hauled away in handcuffs. In some states, it is a felony. Without a resident license from the state where the school is located, it is a federal offense.
The map is incorrect in regards to Oregon for non-judicial public buildings. It is green if you have a CHL. They are also incorrect for schools as well. Whoever read the stuff on Oregon read the stuff in ORS 166.370 without reading the exemptions for CHL holders.
You may want to notify whoever is keeping the maps updated and add some green spots for both of those situations.
The Georgia carry map is incorrect for Texas on two separate topics. Carry in Places of Worship in Texas is prohibited only if there is valid oral or posted notice. Also, carry at high school, collegiate or professional sporting events is prohibited.
