In Ohio, questions on CCW laws.

Well, it appears that I was wrong. The thing is, OH has record of having laws that have been ruled unconstitutional by SCOTUS. For example, some years ago they had a law that any traffic stop was probable cause to search the vehicle. SCOTUS took maybe 5 minutes to throw that one out. The laws under discussion in this thread seem to me to be in the same category.

Perhaps they do have such a record. But it doesn't seem any worse than many other states.

Ohio's made quite a bit of progress with respect to carry laws and such in the last several decades, though. They are a far cry from the way they used to be.

On the practical side of this issue...even if it's not posted precisely in accordance with the way the law says, it's not wise to consider this a loophole to be exploited. For one thing, he HAS discovered their policy, which means he can't honestly claim ignorance or to be uninformed about it now.

And even in the states where such postings don't carry the weight of law, it's generally not wise to deliberately ignore or flaunt them. Simply take your business elsewhere...and maybe tell them why you are doing so.

Indeed. Fortunately, there are virtually no "no gun" signs around here. The only two I can think of are at the courthouse and the DMV.

BTW Chief, thank you for your service. I spent 8 years in the Navy (Vietnam era), but ended up retiring from the Air Force.

Air Farce, huh? ;)

I have a brother who served in the AF at that time, retired after 22 1/2 years.

The times sure changed between his first enlistment and his retirement, for sure. Heck they sure changed a lot between 1985 and 2005 when I served.

Thank you for your own service, my friend!

:)
