I was awakened this morning by a knock on my door. Standing outside was the Fedex dude holding a small box from Springfield, Mass. I am pleased to announce that Smith and Wesson has finally returned my 637 and that the pistol looks as good as the day it originally left the factory. Thank you for giving me a specific person in customer service to ask for, as I do not think it coincidental that I got my pistol back the day after I spoke with him.
Now I am seriously considering shipping the pistol off to Virgil Tripp to have him Cobracoat it, to forstall having the finish peeling off again. He just did a commander for me that turned out really nice. Or maybe I will leave it as is and designate it my glove box and tackle box pistol and see just how much wear I can put on it. Kind of a "distressed jeans" finish. Decisions, decisions...
