Does anyone have any suggestions how to increase the diameter of my Barnes .3110 copper bullets? I have a bore that slugs at .3115" so I need .3120", and my initial ladder test and then test loads within the node are not promising. I think I need to increase the diameter of the bullet. Do you think I should wrap teflon tape around it or dip it in liquified PC paint and size or try to plate it?

You could PC it and it would definitely grow. The issue is if it's big sizing might be problematic

What's your bullet jump,
I have pc jacketed bullets and it's worked but they where 2200 fps range, I'm guessing your maybe a little faster and the pc may not work to well over 2400ish Are you loading for 7.62x39?

PC works great for up-sizing cast bullets. . .

but you're in a whole different velocity range at 2-3x the pressure. Maybe it'll work.

I think not. The lands of the rifling are going to control the bullet just fine, as it travels down the barrel.

The .0005" difference is tiny. Not ideal for a bench rest rifle, but should do OK for hunting grade guns.

The Ruger Blackhawk convertible revolvers shoot jacketed bullets of 9mm/.355" & 357/.358" in the same barrel, without issue.

Is accuracy lost from paper patching?
It’s an attempt at humor. Paper is for black powder. And not just paper but a lube as well. I use bees wax with everything Black. But here we are digressing. That is not the solution.

Some .311s shoot well enough with .308 sized bullets. Your difference is nine times less. A coating may help, but the best return in effort would be to try a few, or find properly sized bullets.

I’d bet on yours working fine.:)

I've pp jacketed many times, but the bullet has to be the right size. You need about 2 wraps to work so add the thickness of the paper x4
Right. So how thick was your paper? Standard 16lb cellulose is over .003” thick. Calf skin vellum paper is a scant .002”. Both are too much for the discrepancy, even at a single wrap.
Or rather what size was your bullet?

I postulate they work fine as is.
And I hope they do!:D

paper I've used was at about .003" I was pp or a . 318 8x57 using 308 bullets, they came out around .319 ish and worked well. A .300 bullet would be needed here.
