Anyone own a Indian Armory Hi Power? I see them quit often at Gander Mountain for $279 on sale. I want an HP but I am also a tight wad and if I can get a decent (beauty is not a factor) HP for $279 then I will. What I don't want, is to buy a $279 paper weight.

Thanks for your input.

I played with one at Gander but haven't shot one. The one I tried had absolutely the worst HP trigger I've tried, long, very heavy and gritty. Exterior maching was also poor. The aesthetics does mean something to me, if they can't get the basics of the exterior machining decent you have to wonder what's going on inside.

The Bulgarian Arcus HP clone gets good reviews for about the same price, although you will probably have to order one. And Gander here in Houston has new BHP Practicals for I think $599, quite a lot more, but worth it if you can swing it.

The Daly HP or the Argentine FM M-95 or M90are good choices with out doubling the price. Both go for $340.00 to $380.00 around the TC Metro area of Minneapolis.
I own an Argentine and think it's great, again a Military finish not the shiny polish but it's a great shooter and does what it is designed to do.
Never had any experience with the East Indian HP's but their Enfields were good although poorly finished shooters.
Hope this helps.
