I know that this is hard to imagine in America, but I was reading some of the battle plans proposed for Korea in the event of a full out attack by North Koreans. (My nephew is in the 101st Airborne and we discuss hot areas all the time--hopefully he isn't going there, but he appears to be a "lifer." so who knows)
One of the scenarios that is discussed is the event of "infiltration teams" sent to disrupt "civilian activity" to promote confusion and cause overloading on the communication systems and the established civilian police systems. The teams would probably be comprised of Spec Ops guys.
If you were a civilian who started hearing the rumors of infiltrators amongst the general populace...what would be your response?
Would you go to the local police station and try to volunteer as an "armed citizen?" Would you organize your Neighborhood Watch group to "defend" your neighborhood?
What would you do?
I have already joined with a few of the vets for Y2K and so we know who the "group" is and we have decided that we can patrol our neighborhoods after notifying our local PD.
We have already met with the beat cops at their role call with the blessings of the Watch Commander as volunteers who will help watch the neighborhood and to provide safe houses for the officers should they need somewhere to go in the neighborhood. This is just part of the Neighborhood Watch team work with the Police Department.
What else can be done?
