Info on 38 S&W Special CTG

Hi, I am trying to find out additional information about a gun that my Dad just received as a gift. It is a Smith & Wesson 38 special CTG, serial number 6K1516.

Assuming it was made by Smith & Wesson, all I can tell you is that the gun was made in 1974 and is chambered for the .38 Special Cartridge.

Look on the frame under the crane (where the cylinder swings out). There should be a model number followed by a dash and another number, like "14-2". The model number will help with information.
