Picked up a very clean Iver Johnson Pony .380 . Box and all paper work says Iver Johnson . Gun is Blue . On slide it says AMAC Jacksonville , Ark. Pony . On Owners Manual it has AMAC PO .380 . I tryed to find out some information on this gun , but not much luck . What is the difference in to PO .380 and the X300 ? What is a rough value at 98+ ? Thx. for any info .

AMAC stands for American Military Arms Corp., which acquired the Iver Johnson assets in 1987. They ceased operations entirely in 1993.

IIRC, the Pony was made in Spain; it was not a bad gun, but no world-beater. Value in 98% runs around $250. Again, IIRC, Colt sold the same basic gun as the Mustang and the Pony; the more prestigious name didn't help the quality.

IJ PONY

That IJ Pony was orginally made by STAR in Spain. Dissassemble, and look to see if the guide rod or spring has made "ping" marks in the receiver. The metal used on some of these guns is a bit sodft, and wears quite quickly.

Good little gun, though
