Info on Vintage ammo needed

Hello friends and neighbors // I have an open box with 48 rounds of .32rf all with the Western diamond stamp.

The info I have found online so far is sketchy.

Can anyone identify this ammo or recommend a forum/book/magazine article ... concerning Vintage Western Ammo.

From my google research this box is a single run for "Nublend Powder"in 1910.
When Western purchased National they used up National's powder in 1910 labeled " Nublend Powder".

I have info on the "Remington" Elliots Patent Ring Trigger 4 Shot Derringer but any warnings/comments/grade assesments are appreciated.

So far I have found one old listing for .32Colt in this box and a few online postings for Nublend Powder.

That's collector ammo. Western bought Winchester Arms in 1931 and became Winchester-Western.

Thanks Sunray, I'll check Winchester-Western listings as well as Western.

I'll look through Cartridge collectors again, may need to become a member if it gets me more access to more info.

I got this box of .32rf thrown in on the Derringer sale but now am getting more interested in collector ammo as well as firearms.

Long is a good bit cheaper than short.
Do you shoot yours?

I'm not sure I will shoot mine unless I come across a replacement hammer and spring.
I understand they are rather fragile.
The ah,um, er, "friendly" salesman even dry fired it once to show me it worked,,,, grrr.

I appreciate any input.

I have been picking up old shells here and there over the last few years when opportunity presents its self. Mostly old shotgun shells, some really old and some just unusual or cool looking. I just like the looks of the older shell boxes as compared to the modern boxes. Guess I'm just Old-School.

I know what you mean, anything that has been around that long has a certain style all its own. When I see old shotgun shell they are for display only.

"Old School" that is what they call me when I show up to a class with my ammo in an "ammo" can.

Yes, I have fired mine with .32 Long RF. Out of 8 rounds, I got two hits on the paper at 7 yards. Maybe if I put Millett sights on it.....

Oddly enough, that funny looking grip really fits the hand and the gun is easy to hold, unlike many other "derringers."

Yes, I was surprised that grip type passed into history.
Very comfortable from the start.

2 hits at 7 yards is great,I think I'd better stick to across the table range .

There was a run of 32RF ammo made in the 80s by Navy Arms, but I haven't seen any in the last 20 years.

That derringer looks like a real "bad breath range" proposition.

Five at a poker table, four possible threats, this gun recocks with the trigger finger, it had to be faster than thumbing the hammer one handed on a hammer down derringer.

I bought some of the Navy Arms run, there are a few boxes selling now for $115 / 50 rounds.
Tempting me to sell mine but until someone manuf. them again the price will keep going up.

I have not found info on a Nublend .32rf box that has sold but have found a few sales of other calibers.
