Please... any information... on the following revolver:

On the 6" hex barrel... "METROPOLITAN POLICE" TRADE MARK RG'D

and... .32 S. & W. CTGE

For example...What ammo? .32 or 32-20???

It does not appear to be the Maltby, Curtiss & Co. Metropolitan Police Revolver... http://www.joesalter.com/detail.php?f_qryitem=8834

I don't know but I would think somebody like Hopkins and Allen or Harrington and Richardson could be the manufacturer. The caliber is .32 S&W; the .32-20 Winchester used a slightly heavier bullet at substantially higher velocities. Here's a photo of a H&R Victor; certainly not identical, but notice some of the similarities between the two revolvers.

The only thing I can find is that Metropolitan Police was a trade name used on inexpensive firearms . Looks like a Iver Johnson or H&R. You mght pose a question to I J expert Bill Goforth on his foruum. 32 Winchester is 32-20. .32 Smith and Wesson is exactly that. .32 S&W short. I doubt if it's .32 S&W long. A heck of a lot of differenbts bertween 32 Winchester and .32 S&W.:)
