IMG_0247.JPG IMG_0246.JPG IMG_0244.JPG IMG_0245.JPG I have this gun and it's my Great Grandfather's gun. It is a double barrel shotgun and the left barrel says 'Bored by skilled mechanics for nitro powder' and the left says '#1412 Cruci Steel' or something like that. Can anyone tell me the Gage, how old the gun is, or any other information about the gun. Also near the barrel it says 'St. Louis Arms Co.' I can tell it's an old weapon because how it's built and all the rust but I'd be great to have more information.

Sounds like an old 'hardware store gun'. Possibly pop off the forearm and there might be more information on the underside. If a dime almost fits or just slides into the ends of the barrels at the muzzle it is a 12 gauge. Hard to tell anything with just the pics.

Hate to be the party pooper here, but that barrel looks rust pitted in some spots. You may
want to have a gunsmith look at it, before you shoot it.
