I have been looking for a ccw. Originally I was looking for something that can be put in a pocket for summer. I looked at a Walther ppk today. It was used, but looks to be 98+ %.

What should I know about these? Are they any good? Compared to sig or beretta almost the same size? Is 355. a good price?

What about the Kel-tec ?

Any info or suggestions are welcome

Thanks

I would go for the walther. Those have been around forever and are a great "pocket pistol" as the german name implies. I would steer clear of the kel-tec. IMO they are a POS. but the 355 sounds good for the ppk. The bersa thunder is also a good pocket type pistol that is a knock off of the PPK and can be had for under 200 on www.gunsamerica.com. Also, look at the comparables for the PPK there. Both seem to fit in the hand very well.. Hope this helps..just my 2 pennies...

Some folks might say......

that the PPK is a little heavy for a pocket pistol. I had a Kel-Tec P32 (.32 ACP) at one time, but I think you might be a little undergunned with that. The Kel-Tec P3-AT might be a better solution. It's a .380 caliber. Both Kel-Tecs are wonderfully concealable and only weigh about 10 oz. or so loaded. I carry a Kahr PM9 in an Uncle Mike's pocket holster now though. I don't feel so lightly armed with a 9mm.
Also don't forget about a Smith & Wesson or Taurus snub nosed light weight revolver in .38 spl. They seem to be an excellent choice too.

The four guns i would consider for pocket carry would be either a SmithWesson 37 airweight revolver, Walther ppk, Glock 26, or a Colt 380 mustang. However im partially taken to the smithwesson 380 sigma or the Glock 30 given it's a 45acp. I would like to try out the Para Warthhog sometime though:D

Gun i would hate to carry for ccw would be a crappy derringer:neener: :barf:

I've fired both PPK's and Bersa .380's. I found that the Bersa's
were much more reliable with hollow points. Also, the extended
back strap on the Bersa, although a little ugly, made it much
more comfortable to shoot. The PPK tended to pinch and bite
my hand at times, but I could've just been holding it wrong???

NEW, SW-made PPK(/S) pistols have extended beavertail, eliminating this problem.

And they became UGLY. IMHO.
