My last uncle passed in August. He was 79 and was a
hunter and outdoorsman. I'm getting his rifle he used
Deer and Elk hunting. All I know is it's a 7mm and it's
in a canvas/lined zipper carry with a scope. It may not
be a Rem. Magnum since I remember about 25 years or
more ago, he talked about hitting Elk and the bullets
not expanding

The rifle must be at least 30 years of age,
I can always hope for a Rem. 700 BDL.... I'll get it during
the holidays.

hmmmm 7 x 57, 280 Rem., .284 Win. 7mm-08
besides the Rem. Mag. No way Uncle would have
coughed up the coin for a Weatherby. WHen he
was running a lake resort, and later an auto
parts business in N. Idaho, he would assist a guide
and assist in camp, and hunting.

It will be interesting to see what caliber for which it is actually chambered, once you look it over. The 7mm Mag was around 30 years ago. In fact the 7mm Rem Mag has been around for 45 years (1962).

I would not be able to stand the suspense....
