Hey guys,

I just inherited a rather old wheel gun that looks to be in pretty good shape. I was wondering if I could get some help figuring out what model it is and approx how much its worth ? What year it was made ? etc...

S&W approx 5" barrel nice wood butt looks walnut maybe
Behind the cylinder it has a "7" a symbol that might be a Q&4 together and
under that it has "23138"
Down barrell it has 38 S.W Special CTG
Butt where the serial # is usually located it has "C 80056"

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated :D

Sounds like a .38 M&P model (pre-Model 10) made between 1948 - 1951.

A picture would be worth a thousand guesses though.

None of the numbers on the cylinder or inside the frame mean anything at all unless they are the same as the serial number on the butt.
They are only assembly numbers used at the factory to keep parts for the same gun together during fitting & finishing.
