I received my new trigger in the mail today, and thought I would share my initial impressions. What I didn't want was a 3 lb glass rod trigger in what is my HD rifle. But even after >1000 pulls, the stock trigger still had noticeable creep and a bit more grittiness that I cared for. Perhaps with a few thousand more rounds thru it the grit would have gone away. Or maybe not. But at current component prices, it was much cheaper to buy the ACT than to burn that much ammo.
The ACT install took about 20 minutes, from opening the case to pulling it for the first time. I was very pleasantly surprised. Pull weight is guesstimated at about 6 lbs, and while there is some small amount of creep you have to really work at feeling it. With .060" sear engagement, some creep is inevitable. But it is the smoothest creep you could ever ask for. And it has a positive reset that leaves no doubt in your mind when it happens.
So basically, it is just what they advertise it as...A mil-spec trigger that doesn't suck. Would I do it again? Absolutely. Was the improvement worth $65? After running a couple of hundred rounds thru it this afternoon to test function, I think so.
