Hi Retief

This is one of my SA hunting buddies. He is also a licensed profesional hunter in South Africa as well as a licensed collector of safari rifles. If you have any questions regarding hunting in South Africa, or calibre selection for african game, myself or Retief (INKWE) should be able to help.

He has more firearm knowledge and i have the big 5 guiding and bush knowledge(him too on this). He has hunted most of the SA plains game species and owns many, many rifles in SA standards. His paps used to be a gunsmith for musgrave and built a bunch of rifles from scratch which retif currently owns, rolling blocks etc. but mainly mauser actions.

We are also both bowhunters, up and coming handgun hunters and wildlife enthusiasts. Any questions and we will gladly answer.

Thanks for the introduction and thanks for informing me about this great site.

All though we stay in South Africa, we actually do not have alot of people that are into hunting or firearms.

Most propeply because of our new gun law act.

The normal persone is only allowed to own four firearms, one handgun or shotgun and 3 hunting rifles.

If you are lucky you will get licences for all four firearms and you might get your licence earlist 6 months.

Wish that we will have a system in place one day where you can buy your firearm and get your licence on the same day. So that when you leave the store, that you take your new toy and go play on the shooting range.

Alaska, Yey........always wanted to go to alaska. Problem is im poor, minor details though. I have some farms to offer and i can organise better rates than your average international hunting lodge. Not 5 star accomodation though. SA lodges normally offer a inter. rate and then a SA rate. There are a bunch of farms arround with good prices. My family owns one hunting farm and has most of the general stuff. if interested i can find out more info.

Retief, you are going to have to ask my dad for a raise, ill have to sell my wife.....i wanna go to ALASKA.
