I'm looking to get away from my 870 for sporting clays and wobble trap. Considering taking up some skeet, too. Not a fan of regular trap shooting. I have no doubts now that I do not like any over-unders. I've fired maybe 7 or 8. Held several more. Just don't like them. Thought I did, I don't. Now I am looking to put up the 870 when I go to shoot clay.

I've tried on several of these. Haven't shot the SX2 or the 11-87, yet. But they all mount well. So here is what I have found at what prices I have found them at:

Remington 1100 Synthetic $485

Remington 11-87 SPS – Premier LC $675

Winchester SX2 Synthetic $599

Winchester SX2 Field Walnut $735

Beretta 391 ES100 $595

Beretta 390 $625

Stoeger 2000 Walnut $400

Your thoughts would be appreciated.

edited to correct spelling on "walnut"

Except for the Stoeger, all of those are well made, top line auto shotguns.

The 391s and SX2s have lots of happy, deadly owners.

The 1100 is another classic.

Get the one that FEELS best...

Sort of like putting up a picture of the Dallas chear leaders and asking which one I would like to date !

My vote today goes to the SX2 synthetic . :D

The SX2 is building a very good reputation for reliability . I like synthetics for the same reason - they are reliable and durable.

The X2 and the 391 are the only ones to seriously think about. I have owned and shot extensively all but the Stoeger...........

My X2 is the finest autoloading shotgun I have ever laid my hands on at any price, and that covers a LOT of shotguns including the 20+ that I have owned in the search for the right one. Second place is an even tie between the SuperX1 and the 391, both outstanding shotguns.
