Sorry guys I haven't been able to post much on The High Road, but some of you may remember me posting way back when about the reliability of my Winchester Defender 1300 I tried to break with 20,000 shells... it still is running strong. I know there is a predilection here towards the Remington 870 but I have a soft spot for the Winchesters. (I just shot a 3-gun match the past weekend with my Winchester SX2 Practical MKII perfect score!).

Anyway I thought you guys would get I kick out of my recent finds. I had the opportunity to snatch up an estate and captured:

1930 Winchester Model 97 12gauge
1957 Winchester Model 12 12gauge

I also got a Mossberg Model 190 16gauge bolt-action from the 1950s and a 1979 Remington 870 Wingmaster.

I also found this in the Army foot locker I bought with the shotguns. :what:
1943 Remignton Rand, Inc. M1911A1 but that is a whole different animal...

I am excited the get the Winchesters gently cleaned and lubed!

I may even have shoot a round of trap with them.

Glad to see this, Cameron, and to hear your Winchester is perking along nicely.

Very nice scores.

I'll warn you, though 97s, 12s AND 870s can be addicting as heck.

And you just have to shoot that old warhorse 1911.

Thanks...

Here are the Mossberg 190 16gauge bolt action and the 1979 Remington 870 Wingmaster 12gauge

Now, tell me that the .45 was still loaded.....Right?

That's a nice set of shooters to come out of one sale. You did good.

I love the Model '97. It's about my favorite shotgun. I've got a couple different ones now and am always impressed with the way they handle.
