So I saw this video on my Facebook feed and thought I should share it here. Video
Supposably Russian special forces and some of their training techniques.
I wouldn't reccomend the techniques but they are interesting to watch.
Russian doctrine is much different than that of the USA & other Western powers. While US forces seek to minimize civilian/collateral damage, the primary goal of Russian SF is to eliminate the threat at any cost. This is why their "ops" can result in extreme casualties to innocents.
Civilian deaths & injuries only, does not include bad guys.
Breslan School Massacre 2004: 334 deaths, 783 injuries.
Moscow theater hostage crisis 2002: 133 deaths, over 700 injured.
Back in the early 80's when I was an S2 Sergeant, the Captain I worked for stated in his intel briefings that a 10% casualty rate in training exercises was considered acceptable in the Soviet Army. They had a lot of live fire training exercises and inevitably someone got in the wrong place at the wrong time.
