Anybody take their gun to a smith to have a choke tube system installed? If so, where did you go to get it done, what did you pay, and did they do a good job?? I was thinkin of takin mine to gander mtn. they will machine a shotgun barrel to accept choke tubes for $100.

MAX100, thank you for the link, as I will most definately send my barrels to this guy and save some dinero. one more question, does he do different thread patterns? for example, if I specify that I want it to accept winchokes or remchokes, will he be able to do that or does he only thread it a certain way that only accepts a certain brand of chokes???

Mike does a great job, I had him do a winchester 23 in 20 ga and a Browning A5 Light 20. Also www.Briley.com is a great place to have ANY kind of shotgun work done. Briley can chokes barrels that are too thin for most other smiths to choke, they have million dollar equipment to choke about 98% of all shotguns in all guages.

As for what chokes Mike can install ... it all depends on the thickness of your barrel. My Browning A5 was pretty thin so he installed Colonial thin wall chokes in it. And he sells a long line of all chokes.
