Interarms 30-06.

Recently I inherited an Interarms 30-06 from my grandfather's gun collection. It is a good shooting gun and in pretty good shape. I have been researching online trying to get more information on it as to what model it is, but I haven't found anything. It has a wooden stock with checkering, no recoil pad, no sights, and bolt action. As far as markings go it says Interarms, Manchester England, made in Yugoslavia is hidden under the stock, and there is a Z in a circle design the left side beside the Manchester marking. It looks similar to the Mark X's I have seen online but there is nothing where that marking should be so I'm stumped. Does anyone have any info on this rifle? I know it's hard since I don't have any pics or numbers, but I'm not home at the moment. Thanks.

As far as I know, Interarms-labelled rifles were either FN or Zastava-made Mauser designs. The circled Z sounds like a Zastava marking. If yours does not have FN markings, I would assume it to be a Zastava unit.

I vote for zastava too. after interarms lost them, they were imported by charles daly, then remington. I do not think they have an importer currently. EAA might wind up with them. My zastava mini-mauser has great blueing and shoots very well, though the action is sloppy and I had to bevel the edges of the mag follower to get it to feed properly.

Thanks for the replies. So I should be researching Zastava instead of Interarms to find info? No that I'm home and can get a good look at the rifle I can also add that it has a
24" barrel, Alexandria Virginia is also marked on it to the left of Interarms, the circled Z is really a circled CZ, and there is also a circled star on the same side.

Interarms is out of business so there is no real research to be done. AFAIK that barrelled action was made in (then) Yugoslavia at the same factory where the Yugo M48's were made and where the Remington 798 is made today. They were finished and stocked in England.

They are good rifles, not world beaters, but good quality and reasonably priced at the time.

Interarms was the importer. They didn't import junk and didn't assemble rifles out of parts bins.
