Since Im out of Fed 215 primers and I still have a lot of CCI 250 M primers can I use these primers on recipes that call for Fed 215? Has anyone tried decapping live primers out of brass before and re used them?

If you are near the high end of a max load, it's advisable to reduce your powder charge by 5% and rework the load.

Yes, it's common practice to carefully deprime live primers, just wear eye protection to avoid an accident.

That's what I pretty much use my Lee "decapping die" for. Good for the occasional screwup, once I primed 50 cases I forgot to trim:banghead:

I have de-capped and reused hundreds of primers over the years. No problems.

Just go slow/even pressure and pop it out. Standard safety rules etc..

I've done it many times over the years but I don't like doing it. Never had one to go bad from de-capping and reseating anyway.
I just have to swallow hard to reset the puckered a-hole when I'm finished.:D
