This was in the 7/31 VCDL e-mail. Amazing how warped their view of us is...
Michael Sharp wrote the anti-gun Violence Policy Center (VPC) to ask
them when they are going to see the light - Americans don't want more
gun control.

They wrote him back this snotty response:

"Not as many people as you have to kill to satisfy your bizarre fascination
with an inanimate object.

This email was sent by Kristen Rand ([email protected]) who is the Legislative Director for the VPC.

I can't figure out what in the hell that response is supposed to mean??

Not as many people as you???

Right -- the "response," aside from being snotty, does not respond to his message.

Unbelieveable (almost).

Send them another email and say "All your senate, house, and president are belong to us"

Kristen Rand is hilarious. The stuff that you get back when emailing her (note: I haven't) is right off of DU.

Her email messages are exceptionally impolite and unprofessional. It's no wonder her organization is as marginalized as it is. They let their zealotry bleed right into everything.

Excellent. The wackier they get, the less power they have. Well done Kristen!

I don't thnk that even comes close to being a complete, discernable thought. It's good to know that she isn't exactly what I would classify as a brilliant mind.

First of all make sure it's not a hoax. Confirm that the story is genuine before spreading it all over the Internet. The gun control people are wrong, but they're not usually idiots like someone would have to be to send such a message knowing it would turn up later. If the story is not true then we look like morons for repeating it.

IMHO I disagree- they may not be idiots but when it comes to this topic the majority seem to lose most of their rationality- zealots may not be dumb but they often just plain old come unglued- just take a peek at the DU for examples-

Ordinarily I'd agree with you, but this Rand woman really does respond to e-mails in this manner. Someone on another board (or it might've been this one) received a reply calling him a "crank" with a picture of a stuffed animal included (I have no idea *** that was supposed to mean).

Anyone want to start an archive of all these replies? I'd be willing to write her an email just to entertain myself with the reply. Maybe its time someone called her a poopyhead.

The archive would be much more entertaining and useful if it consisted of polite, well written, reasonable emails, followed by her increasingly irrational responses.
