Will the Real Threat to America Please Stand Up?
James Jester

Some Americans believe everything they see or hear from the major TV and radio news networks. Whenever the media demonizes the word Patriot, Militia, or Constitutionalist with terms like Right Wing Extremist, Gun Nut, or White Supremacist the public is suppose to tremble with fear. Are these people violent or are they a threat to our country? The truth is, of course not. They are Americans concerned about keeping this country free. But the media and government would have us all believe that they are thousands of Timmy McVeigh’s about to go off.

As long as America is free the government cannot protect us from violent acts regardless of the source. Take the recent attack on 9-11 for example. The US government allowed the Arab terrorists into the country, gave them student visas (for schools that no longer existed), gave them driver’s licenses and pilot licenses. In other words they were here legitimately. Furthermore, the Anthrax scares were the strain produced by the US government at Ft. Deitrick, Md. (after the government had signed a treaty not to produce Bio-weapons). These examples are only a drop in the bucket of inconsistencies concerning the 9-11 attack. My point is that the government cannot protect us completely, and in my opinion, have contributed to or even allowed such a scenario! Personally, I’d rather live in a free country with some chance of violence than live in a police state and be (supposedly) totally safe.

On the other hand, now that the US government has admitted they can’t protect us, I don’t think we should pay them! Right? Only those who can do the job get paid? After the next attack all Americans should refuse to pay the taxes. Fire’em all! Maybe I should be the National Security Advisor. I can think of three things the government can do to stop all this. First, close the borders. Second, threaten to nuke one of their major cities if there’s another attack (and back it up). Third, nuke the holy sites of Islam. Since Allah has promised to protect these sites, that would wipe out the faith of Muslims. All this is conditioned, of course, on the premise that there’s a threat from the Muslim world. Personally, I doubt very much if that threat is real. The fact that the borders of this country remain open is proof of what I say. I believe this whole thing is a hoax to force America into a world dictatorship.

Now, back to the subject of these domestic extremists that seem to be a threat to the US government. Notice I didn’t say they were a threat to America, for they are not (as previously stated). But are they a threat to the US? How could they be? They don’t have helicopters and F-15’s, just small arms. So why does the US feel threatened by the Militia and others of the Right Wing? Because they know the truth, and believe in the Constitution and the Bible, both of which is a hindrance to the free reign of government. The US has long ago disregarded the Bible and in more recent times the Constitution. So these Patriots will defend their country at all costs against foreign enemies or against a government that has become foreign to its country. This is not a pleasant thought or an easy task but it is the intent of the founding fathers of this country and the spirit of true Americanism.

If these Patriots are extreme then they are in good company for so were the founders of America. A more recent patriot, Sen. Barry Goldwater, said, “Extremism in defense of liberty is no vice.†Consider the words of the Declaration of Independence, “…it is the Right of the People to alter or abolish it and to institute new Government… it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.†Americans today know very little of the thoughts and intents of the founding fathers so I have provided the following quotes:

Government is not reason; it is not eloquence; it is force! Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master. --George Washington

The history of liberty is a history of limitations of governmental power, not the increase of it. When we resist, therefore, the concentration of power, we are resisting the powers of death, because concentration of power is what always precedes the destruction of human liberties. --Woodrow Wilson

The Constitution shall never be construed...to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms. --Samuel Adams

To preserve liberty, it is essential that THE WHOLE BODY OF THE
PEOPLE ALWAYS POSSESS ARMS and be taught alike, especially when young, HOW TO USE THEM. --Richard Henry Lee

The great object is that EVERY MAN BE ARMED. Everyone who is
able may have a gun. --Patrick Henry

Patriots are not revolutionaries trying to overthrow the government, they are counter-revolutionaries trying to prevent the government from overthrowing this constitutional republic. --Thomas Jefferson

The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to PROTECT THEMSELVES AGAINST TYRANNY IN GOVERNMENT. --Thomas Jefferson

"To disarm the people...is the best and most effectual way to enslave them." --George Mason

I am concerned for the security of our great nation, not so much because of any threat from without, but because of the insidious forces working from within. -General Douglas MacArthur

Do these quotes shock you? I hope so. But ask yourself this question; why has the US kept the historic truth from you? And, why does the US want you to believe everything they tell you and expect you to blindly follow their orders? Americans should always question authority.

So far I have pointed out that these Patriots are not a threat to America and they aren’t a practical threat to the US. But, should they be a threat to the US? Well, of course. I would certainly hope so. Someone should stand up against a government that has become abusive and tyrannical. Since they are a part of the citizenry of America it is their duty to do this (as per the Declaration of Independence). They are not anti-government but are anti-corrupt government. The thought of overthrowing such tyranny is quite pleasant and popular. That’s why books have been written (such as “Turner Diaries†by Andrew McDonald) and movies made (such as “Braveheart†and “The Matrixâ€) along this idea. Actually the U.S. government has already been overthrown as of March 9, 1933 under the emergency war powers of president Roosevelt. Today’s Patriots just want the lawful government of the U.S. re-established.

But, someone may object, our government is not tyrannical. Oh, really? Then why don’t you ask Randy Weaver, whose wife, baby, and son were murdered by the US, if he feels the same way? Mr. Weaver was awarded $3.1 million in damages. There are many other examples and the terrorism of the US continues to grow every day in various ways. Does anyone stop to consider that maybe the US is the real terrorists? Some will object and say we shouldn’t cause trouble with the US (since 9-11) because any internal disturbance would cause an outside force, like China, to attack us. Wrong principle; eternal vigilance is the price of liberty. In other words, today’s flag wavers think we should give up real American principles, such as trusting God, and instead trust man! Besides, if the US knows that China is an enemy of America, then why does the US give them the favored nation status for trade? And, why does the US continually try to provoke a confrontation with Militia leaders and others of the Right wing? Right now we are losing our freedoms, not because of some “Terrorists†in a foreign country, but because of an ever-expanding US federalism!

A few years ago, then president Clinton, at the University of Michigan, said that the Militia types were not Patriots. Well, what does he know? Just what is a Patriot anyway? Well, that depends on whom you ask. There are two types, one who supports his government and one who supports his country. One blindly does whatever the government says and one is guided by the principles on which that nation was founded. Now, you tell me who is the true Patriot? I think you know now. The word “Patriot†comes from the Latin “Patri†which means “father.†So a Patriot is one who follows the principles of the founding fathers of their religion and their nation.

It is these Right-wing Extremists who are the true Patriots not our political leaders or even the US military. As I have mentioned, these Patriots will defend the liberties of all Americans regardless of the odds against them or whether it is a foreign or domestic threat. Why? Because they believe in God and that good triumphs over evil. If you can’t see this, it is because you, like most Americans, have put the US in the place of God. Government is not God, and they either cannot or will not protect us. That puts them in a pretty humble position. We, the people, with the aid of our God are the Patriots that must protect ourselves from all enemies, both foreign (such as China or Korea) and domestic (our own government). Therefore, in my opinion, the real threat to the peace, security, and liberty of America are not these Patriots and Constitutionalists, nor Osama or Saddam, but the international policies of the US.

With all due respect, Gunsmith, I don't find this very interesting. Though I agree with the sentiments expressed, rambling diatribes like this one make the writer, and by extension all of us, look like paranoid, marginally coherent nuts.
