Interesting. I didn't like the brush off of hunting, but at least he gets the 2nd amendment. I think his 1000:1 casualty ratio is also a bit high, but at least he understands the deterrent value of the 2A.

I like this one. Will post to FB when I get home.

ETA: I like his statistics, but he just said rifles are irellevant for self defense because they're only good at range. Kinda baffles me.

I don't know that he is actually a gun owner. regardless, everyone has their opinions on that. I'm just glad to see someone sane presenting solid, indisputable evidence, and pointing out how we should be formulating public policy.

I was impressed by how he wrote about little insurrections that have happened in the not so distant past, and we have no reason to believe won't happen again. Something that was brought up in a different thread over the weekend, is that we don't need to emphasize talk about scary and entirely unlikely events like civil wars and revolutions in order to justify possession of "military grade" EBRs and 30 round magazines to reasonable people.

Good read. Sad stats on the kids, but they really point out that guns aren't the problem.

I also totally agree with his point that the guns with the most attention on bans are also the ones best suited to the militia clause. I really wonder how a Supreme Court challenge of Feinsteins bill mentioning "military characteristics" would stand up...
