A line in this article says what we have been saying for years!

"It is absolutely clear that the current system has not worked," said the minister.

"Let's not penalise the majority of responsible drinkers because of the crimes of a minority.

"There should be a very clear principle here - that if people are not causing harm to others, government should get out of their personal lives.

Let's substitute firearms owners for drinkers and go from there!

Drinking

It is quite funny that the world simultaneously (big word) mocks us for not allowing our children to drink until the age of 21, while criticizing our allowance for the individual to protect himself without the help of gubmint.

Did you hear that they are now prosecuting for ornamental swords as deadly weapons?

In my college criminal justice class we were taught that 85% of all violent and property crime is commited under the influence of alcohol. Drugs are a factor too but to a much lesser degree and sometimes combined.

Banning alcohol sure didn't work and we are living with the reprocussions of the 18th amendment some 80+ years later.

Going after criminals like the article mentions instead of the booze is a great idea and a step in the right direction.

Maybe they will wake up and realize they can do the same thing with firearms.

HAHAHAHAHAHA..... Nevermind! thats just the booze talking :D
