Persons in the individual country who are trying or who have obtained firearms are obviously the best source of info. But with the exceptions of Sweden and Scandinavia--which country is that, again? :) --we seem to have fedw source of that caliber--which leaves us with hearsay.

My favorite bit of hearsay is what we learned about Italian firearm laws by watching Alberto Tomba (Tomba la bomba!) that, if you're a celeb--from an important family, too--in Italy, you get a make-believe title with the Armed Police (Carabinieri) that apparently allows you to speed (flashing your lights of course), drive intoxicated, and carry a firearm for personal protection.

All others need not apply.

Do we have a member from Italy who can take me to task for my misinformation?
