allthough i have bid bought several guns at auction..i have still had better luck with cabellas..only burned once ..gun library ..scheels has been the go to place for me.......no hassle and it shoots or bring back............and some of the hometown gun sales become a thing of the past.......some times pawn shops have guns but i do not trust them...............and some gun shops in lincoln ne are reasonable....next week i travel to there to look for a ruger o/u or a citori.......both nice. trying to find a 12 ga 30 in.....is there a comparison??

If you can afford the Citori, its generally considered the better, longer lasting gun. Having said that, I have a 20ga ~7 year old Red Label that I've been nothing but happy with. The fit and finish isnt perfect (ie wood not quite flush with metal), but its also 1/2 the price of a Citori. I also dont shoot 10k rounds per year.... maybe 1k. Most of the complaints, other than fit/finish that I heard about the Red Label were from guys that expect to put many thousands of rounds through their shotguns.

ruger o/u or a citori.

Based on what little I could ascertain from your post, the Browning would get the nod. Ruger's re-issuing of the Red Label is still too new, IMO, unless you like being a BETA tester. Their previous iteration failed miserably in many ways, so unless they have done something very drastically different, I would wait and see how it goes. I own Brownings, I no longer own a Ruger - too many issues and repair trips back.

thank you for replies, the citori vs. ruger.red label..i dont want a gun that causes problems..i started to shoot a summer leage of sort...i havent done this for over 30 years..i have used many guns for this, but id really like to just get used to one gun and stay with it.so its gonna be save my money for the browning.also pardon my typing.,my left hand doesnt allow me to type worth a damn.,but i can still hold a shotgun and hunt and shoot blue rock.

I have a Browning Cynergy and love it. I had a 1955 Superposed and loved it. I have never shot a single Citori that I didn't hate. Although closer to a Superposed, there is something wrong with the stock geometry. And, in this day and age, there is no call for such a tall receiver. So, I would try the new 725, but while the Browning is a better made gun, the Red Label may feel better.

I've put purchased two Brownings from Guns of Omaha at what I felt were reasonable prices. Lower than list, but not a "deal" either. One was a Citori 625 sporting and the other was a BT-99 trap Gun.

The Browning is a proven performer, they will hold up to hundreds of thousands of rounds. The new Red label might, but since it has only been on the market a few months nobody really knows. The old Red Labels were hit or miss (no pun intended) quality wise. Some guys shot them for years without issue, and others didn't work out of the box. I love the handling of the new Red Labels, and will probably consider one after they have been on the market a couple years..
